Privacy policy
Your business context helps MakeIt guide you. This page explains what is saved, who processes it, and the controls you have.
Who runs MakeIt
MakeIt is operated by Jefferson Lawson. For privacy questions or requests, contact jefferson@trylastai.com. MakeIt is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
Information MakeIt uses
- Account information: your email address, an account identifier and sign-in/session information, so you can access your account. For service administration, we count current accounts, their creation dates and whether account confirmation is complete. These aggregate account totals include accounts without an analytics choice; they do not record screens or onboarding activity.
- Sign in with Apple: if you choose it, Apple shares an account identifier, your email address or a private relay address and, on the first sign-in only, the name you decide to share. We keep an Apple token only so we can revoke MakeIt’s access with Apple when you delete your account.
- Your workspace: the name, country, goals, budget, time, skills, experience, interests and other context you enter; business ideas and decisions; coaching messages and summaries; memories you save; tasks, feedback and progress. Contacts, sales, revenue and costs are figures you report yourself. MakeIt does not connect to your bank or verify these figures.
- Access and subscription information: saved discovery results, lifetime exploration allowances, coaching usage counts and purchase/entitlement information needed to provide the correct access.
- Technical information: the app and its infrastructure providers process connection, device/app and diagnostic information needed to deliver and protect the service. For example, network requests disclose an IP address to the receiving provider.
- Support: the email address and information you choose to include when contacting support.
Enter only information you have the right to share. Avoid customer lists, passwords, payment-card details, sensitive personal information, or confidential third-party material in coaching messages.
Optional product analytics
If you opt in, we record account-linked screen and step events, timestamps, feature use, paywall interactions, notification interactions and technical outcomes to understand onboarding, retention and conversion. We do not include coaching messages, project text or saved personal memories in these events. You can optionally tell us how you found MakeIt. A campaign link can prefill a source and campaign label; it does not identify you across other companies’ apps. You can change this in Memory. Turning analytics off deletes your collected product events. We retain these events for up to 365 days. RevenueCat purchase and subscription records needed for access, billing and operational reporting are processed separately from this optional choice.
Progress history and anonymous benchmarks
When your workspace syncs, MakeIt keeps a history of your progress so the coach can compare your attempts: each offer you tried (buyer, deliverable, price and direction), the contacts, replies, conversations, sales, revenue and costs you logged while it was active, monthly totals, the dates of first milestones such as a first sale, and simple effort counts such as tasks completed and days active. When you tell the coach about your own results, it also records them as fixed categories and numbers: sector, type of buyer, channels used, offer format, price, results, what worked or failed, objections you heard from buyers, obstacles and reasons for stopping. It also keeps the tests the coach sets with you (what to change, the deadline, the result and the verdict), weekly totals and the date of your last weekly review. Apart from the short test descriptions, your words themselves are not stored in this history. Editing or replacing an offer in the app does not erase this history. It is kept while your account exists and is deleted with your account; contact us to have it removed sooner.
If you opted into product analytics, your progress figures may also be included in anonymous statistics shown to other users and the coach, such as the median number of contacts before a first sale among people on a similar direction, or how often people who used a given channel reported a sale. These statistics use numbers and fixed categories only (direction, sector, type of buyer, channel, offer format, experience level, currency, price, results, objection types, test types and outcomes, and effort counts), never your offer text, messages or name, and a figure is shown only when at least 20 people contribute to it. Figures are self-reported and describe past users; they are not a forecast or a promise of income. Turning analytics off removes your figures from future statistics.
Waitlist
If you join the MakeIt waitlist, we keep your email address and, if you give them, your first name, country and main goal, plus the page or campaign you came from and the date you agreed. We use them only to email you when MakeIt is available and to share occasional launch news, never for advertising, and we never sell them. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to delete your details at any time.
Notification choices
Daily and progress reminders are optional. Promotional notifications, including a reminder after closing an upgrade screen, require a separate marketing choice. These reminders are scheduled locally on your device. A closed upgrade screen is not proof of a failed payment. Promotional reminders are cancelled when the app learns that Pro is active. You can switch these options off in Memory or iPhone settings.
How the coach uses your context
When you request coaching, MakeIt sends your message and relevant workspace context to OpenAI through the MakeIt backend. This can include your profile, selected business, progress figures, recent conversations and evidence, saved memories, feedback, current task, previous recommendations and a working summary. The coach uses this context to generate personalised guidance.
After you allow the updated AI sharing choice, a business diagnostic or an explicit market question may also use OpenAI web search. Search requests contain general market topics or product-category queries derived for the proposed businesses, not a copy of your messages, profile, customer details or our private learning materials. Public observations are shown with their links and the date checked. They are not proof that an idea will sell, and unavailable research is labelled accordingly.
The app asks for permission before the first coaching request. You can decline and still view your saved workspace. Your choice is saved for your account on that device. Select Turn off AI coaching in Memory → Privacy & data to stop future coaching requests on that device; repeat this on other devices if needed. Withdrawing permission does not recall information already processed.
MakeIt requests responses with storage disabled using OpenAI’s store: false setting. This is not a promise of zero retention: OpenAI may retain information for abuse monitoring and other purposes under its applicable service terms and data controls. See OpenAI’s API data controls.
Your feedback and saved context can change future guidance. MakeIt does not automatically retrain the underlying AI model on your conversations. AI output may be inaccurate; you decide whether to save a suggested memory or follow a recommendation.
Notifications
Notifications are off until you turn them on in the app. If you turn on progress reminders or Pro tips, your device's push token and those two choices are stored with your account so MakeIt can send you the kind of messages you accepted. Turning both off or deleting your account removes the token. After you uninstall the app, the token is removed the first time a message can no longer reach your device. Messages are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple Push Notification service, which receive the token and the message text.
Coach message packs
If you buy coach message packs, we store the number of messages bought and used and the App Store transaction identifiers, linked to your account, so each purchase is counted once. Purchases are processed by Apple and confirmed through RevenueCat. Unused messages are deleted with your account.
Service providers
- Expo and Apple deliver push notifications if you turn them on. They receive your device push token and the notification text. See Expo’s privacy policy.
- Supabase provides account authentication and stores your cloud workspace and usage records. The MakeIt database is configured in Ireland. See Supabase’s privacy policy.
- Railway hosts the MakeIt backend, which processes authenticated requests and passes coaching context to OpenAI. See Railway’s privacy policy.
- OpenAI processes the coaching context described above and generates responses. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails and processes the recipient address, message and delivery information. See Resend’s privacy policy.
- RevenueCat and Apple handle in-app purchase validation and subscription access. RevenueCat receives your MakeIt account identifier and purchase/device information required by its SDK. Apple processes payment details under your Apple account. MakeIt does not receive your full payment-card number. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy information.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Their applicable terms and safeguards govern their processing. An Ireland database location does not mean all service processing stays in Ireland.
Purpose and choices
MakeIt uses information to provide your account, sync your work, personalise requested coaching, manage subscriptions, respond to support and prevent misuse. Where data-protection laws require a legal basis, core account and subscription processing is needed to provide the service; security and support serve our legitimate interest in operating the service; optional AI sharing uses your permission. Legal obligations may require some records to be kept.
MakeIt does not sell your personal information or use it for advertising targeting. The app does not include advertising trackers. These public information pages contain no analytics scripts or advertising cookies.
The app keeps a local workspace cache and a sign-in session on your device. Signing out ends your session but keeps the account’s local workspace cache and recovery copies, so unsynced changes can be recovered when you sign in again. These copies remain associated with that account. Optional reminders are scheduled on your phone after notification permission; you can switch them off in MakeIt or in your phone settings.
Keeping and deleting information
Your workspace remains saved while your account exists, unless you clear it. You can edit your profile and saved memories, clear your conversation summary and history, and export your workspace from Memory. These changes sync when the app is online.
To remove your account and active cloud workspace, open Memory → Delete account (at the bottom of the page) and confirm. This removes the MakeIt authentication account, workspace and usage records from the active database, and clears that account’s local cache and recovery copies on the device making the request. Copies on another device may remain until you remove its local app data. Files you have exported remain wherever you saved them.
Resetting a workspace does not delete local recovery copies. You can inspect them using Memory → Privacy & data → Export device recovery copies. Account deletion removes those recovery copies on the device making the request.
Account deletion does not automatically erase Apple or RevenueCat transaction records, provider security logs, records that must be retained by law, or provider backups before their retention periods expire. It also does not cancel an Apple subscription. You can manage that separately in Apple subscription settings.
If you cannot access the app, or want to request access, correction, export, restriction, objection or deletion, contact jefferson@trylastai.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account. Available rights depend on your location; you may also contact your local data-protection authority. We do not use the coach to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Changes and contact
This policy covers the current app, including test versions. If our practices change materially, we will update this page and provide notice in the app where appropriate. For questions about a particular provider or retained record, contact jefferson@trylastai.com.
